Inspired by relaxed coastal style, the design features a heavyweight, sunbleached white cotton slipcover with a snugly fitted top and straight, full-length skirt adorned by pretty box pleats at the front two legs. Piping around the seat and back provides a nicely tailored touch, and a row of ties creates a delicate line of bows down the back. Built for long-lasting performance, the chair's sturdy frame is made of beech wood and Asian pine, and the legs are solid birch. The back legs are built as one piece with the top for secure, joint-free stability. Spring and rubber webbing support the seat and a California-rated fire foam cushion stays comfortable during those long, leisurely meals. Offering a slender silhouette that easily works in smaller spaces, the chair measures 18-1/2 inches wide by 19-3/4 inches deep by 41-3/4 inches high. Sold as a set of two. I have been looking at these chairs for many, many months now. Overstock had them for $169 a piece (yes a piece) and I came close to purchasing them then. I decided it was more than I wanted to pay for a parson chair with a slipcover. Later they were on Amazon.com for $269 for two chairs. I almost purchased them again, because what a deal compared to Overstock! But I am very glad I waited on both of these purchases. I think that these chairs are worth at the most $100 or so per chair, so the current price of $187.85 for two chairs on Amazon.com is a good deal, especially with the free shipping! (and each week Amazon.com seems to discount it more). As other reviewers have stated, the skirt doesn't hit the floor, but looks great none the less. These are soft chairs. The slipcovers fit nicely and other than some loose threads here and there (not a huge deal)...these are a total value/bargain! The chairs came wrapped in their own gauze bags, so as other reviewers stated, they have probably handled the staining problems. I am so pleased. Thanks to the other reviewers, you gave me the confidence to buy w/o seeing these in person. I was a little nervous ordering something without seeing it in person, but I was really happy with this purchase. The cover does not go all the way to the floor, but the legs of the chair look nice. Overall I am really happy with the purchase. |
